The appointment of François Deruty at Sekoia.io

Paris, July 2021. Sekoia.io, publisher specializing in cybersecurity adept at innovation and eminent player in Threat Intelligence announces the appointment of François Deruty as Chief Operations Officer (COO). His main objectives: the development of the Sekoia.io platform internationally and the establishment of Sekoia.io within the cyber-initiatives of the State.

In 2002, after obtaining an engineering degree in microelectronics and a DEA in automated systems, François Deruty joined the French Ministry of Defence.

After more than 14 years of service in various roles (technical expert in cryptology and reverse engineering, team manager and program director) he joined ANSSI (Agence Nationale de Sécurité des Systèmes d’Information: National Information Systems Security Agency) in 2016 as deputy director of the Operations directorate. In 2018, he took over the management of it as well as that of CERT-FR.

At the beginning of July 2021, he joined the ranks of Sekoia.io for two main objectives. The first on a technical-commercial part: developing the Sekoia.io platform and complementing the operational capacities within the hundred or so engineers that make up Sekoia.io in order to better meet the growing needs of customers.

“Passionate about cyber threat analysis, I wanted to join a team that shares the same vision and ambition to become a major player in the field in France and internationally. Sekoia.io’s historical skills in cybersecurity (audit, incident response, etc.), the quality of the Sekoia.io to share this threat analysis and offer an effective and innovative solution to prevent and detect any type of computer attack and finally the human qualities of the teams quickly convinced me.

His second objective will be to boost the brand awareness and visibility of Sekoia.io on the international scene by positioning it as a key player on cyber threat intelligence topics. At the same time and to go in the direction of its integration into the Cyber Campus or France Cyber Maritime, the Sekoia.io teams under the direction of François will be keen to contribute to uniting a French ecosystem around their vision of cybersecurity.

“Sekoia.io has big ambitions for the coming months and we are doing everything we can to achieve them. This involves strategic recruitments like that of François, but also alliances with strategic partners and the integration of State cyber initiatives (Campus Cyber – France Cyber Maritime). We also established ourselves from the start in the stronghold of the French Cyber Defense Command in Rennes. In the short term, we want to get closer to law enforcement and prepare for the 2022 presidential campaign by putting our platform at the service of institutions”, concludes Freddy Milesi, CEO of Sekoia.io
